Coalescium - Plasmoid/Awakened Ooze Sanctuary
This
Coalescium:
Somewhere in the sewers of Hanweir.forests.
Schmoop is unawarenot aware of this colony.place.
I propose two typesTypes of plasmoidsPlasmoids/Awakened (in flavour only no mechanical differences)Oozes:
Sentience in an ooze is shown by having a glowing core - equivalent of a brain.
Astral Plasmoids: the classic plasmoid from the stars/astral. There aren’t many of these around this world the ones that ended up here were from teleportation experiments with portal/gate/sigil circle mishaps or crash landed. Schmoop is an example.
Awakened (Core) Ooze: an ooze that originated from a standard ooze species, however developed a core whether naturally occurring or from magical experimentation like an ooze that was from a failed experiment. An ooze with the core has the traits and abilities of a plasmoid - a trade-off for developing the core they lose the abilities of their base species that focuses on consumption.
Example: a Pudding-Core is a black pudding in appearance with a glowing core, it might smell vaguely like a greyblack ooze but has sentience and none of the same abilities. It looks like a grey ooze for example but it has the same features as a plasmoid. These could also be failed magical experiments or wild magic that affected a standard ooze. I thinkpudding, this is similarall toflavour howonly no mechanical changes.
Example 2: a domesticatedslithering-tracker animalis showsclear certainin traitsits default design but a Glass-Core has a glowing core of some colour that differwould fromneutralize theirthe origintranslucency like light in a dogclear jelly blob.
Terminology:
Names for each Core Ooze Type
They also have terminology for each ooze type that is fullcore-less sentience/awareness/intelligencewith vs-slop suffix like Pudding-Slop.
I
Astral plasmoid (like Schmoop): these originated from out there but they only arrived in Eusia similar to how Schmoop did with wizards experimenting with gates, portals, sigils, and other magical experiments where the young plasmoid was used as the experiment test subject. There are not many of these.
They mostly keep to themselves only venturing out to find food or useful items. Somewho prefer to learnexplore the waysworld of the humanoids and- othersthey usually retain a humanoid shape.
Culture:
Architecture:
Coalescium Design/Architecture:
Underground villagecolony lit by bioluminescent/magical fungi cultivated by some of the oozes.
No stairs, flowing architecture any buildings or structures seem to merge into each other. There are pipes (imagine warp pipes) that connect floors to each other, ladders if a building is humanoid friendly.
Water comes from underground streams/springs. For
As they usually scavenge the villages leftovers or forage for edible foods.
They enjoy collecting humanoid artifacts - probably from the awakened gelatinous cube oozes, the proprietor of the oddities museum is one of those.
The colony: beingsare amorphous beings they prefer to have smaller entrances to where they stay. I imagine like an ant colony they have a vast underground network, the cargo/humanoid entrances are well concealed but there is that option if someone friendly comes to visit. Now the rains of greycliff would be a problem, so they have a complex network of drains to filter out the rainwater from their underground home instead redirecting it to a swamp like an underground stream.stream
History:
How long as it been here?
